Funchal helds the European Championship - Olympic Class RS: X 2012, from 23th February to 1st March
This is the most prestigious exhibition of its kind in the world, and enjoying the Madeira Tourism Stand aired a panel and distributed brochures of this great Nautical Sports event, in order to keep Madeira on the route of the major events and a place of excellence for water sports, especially in winter, when the rest of Europe the temperature of sea water is not conducive to these activities.
The European windsurfing event will bring to Funchal the best sailors in the world (Open Championship) during a week that promises a great show.
One of the faces of this competition is a native son. The Olympic sailor Joćo Rodrigues who participates in this event for 20 consecutive years and is currently the portuguese athlete who participated more in the Olympics.
In 2011, Mafalda Freitas, President of the Funchal Naval Club, was in Bourgas (Bulgaria) to publicize the competition during the European RS: X 2011. Besides the promotion of evidence, the presidente has been in all preparatives: the place, the logistics involved, the organization. So the European Wood promise to be a huge success.
Another high point of advertising this event was the presence at the Paris Boat Show, held at the Porte de Versailles, between 3 and 10 December.
