Bairro Alto

Like Alfama, Bairro Alto is another neighbourhood with a very lively nightlife. It stands at the top of the opposite hill, with Baixa nestling in the valley in between. Its streets are full of restaurants, bars and fado houses where you can kick of your shoes all night long. Getting there can be a real experience too, if you take one of the 3 funicular trams: Elevador da Glória; Elevador da Bica, Elevador de Sta. Justa or do Carmo (free with your YellowBus ticket).
